An exploration of cinema’s disruptive power, inspired by Anna Karina’s piercing stare in the opening credits of Godard’s Vivre Sa Vie. Her gaze cuts through the screen - steady, indifferent, confrontational.
This glitch video responds to that moment. A still from the film is digitally manipulated and layered with particles in sinusoidal motion. The contrast between the chaos of the particles and the calm of her gaze underscores the tension between turbulence and stillness. The Unbecoming Gaze reflects on how certain cinematic images stay with us - demanding attention, long after the screen fades.
